Launching the Strategic Resilience of the European Union study
I was honored to be part of the research team that elaborated the “Strategic resilience of the European Union, including the technological and digital fields: future scenarios and contributions of Romania” study, developed under the aegis of the European Institute of Romania.
Together with Dan Cimpean, Sabin Popescu, and Alina Vasilescu, we have launched the study at the European Commission’s Representation in Romania. The event was attended by representatives of diplomatic missions in Romania, public institutions, private companies, research centres, and universities.
The study analyses the concept of resilience, used more and more often in various fields, from individual to societal level, and included in the policies of the European Union and international institutions and companies.
The main objective of the study is to explore the concept of strategic resilience and its direct applicability both at the European Union and national levels, for Romania as a member state. The relation between strategic resilience and strategic autonomy is being studied in the context of the European Union’s desire to play a more important role, among others from a geopolitical point of view at the international level, including in the related fields of the new technologies and digital revolution
