CIO Council National Conference

The 5th edition of the CIO Council National Conference was organized by CIO Council and CARIERE Magazine at Radisson Blu Hotel on March 30th. I attended this event as a representative of RAISA – Romanian Association for Information Security Assurance.

The event gathered more than 250 IT specialists and managers, CIOs and COOs and offered excellent opportunities for all IT professionals to discuss the CIOs’ Top Three Concerns for 2017: Alignment (in topics for the last 4 years), Security (increasing, in the last 2 years), and technical skill shortages in Analytics, software development, cybersecurity and Cloud-centric fields.

This year edition launched the debate about the digital world and its impact on the business environment causing, alongside the most influential players in the market, answered to the major issues of the moment:

  • Digital Transformation: from technical capabilities to business strategies and mindsets;
  • The digital future of business: R&D and design by virtual and augmented reality; manufacturing by robots; supply chain by automated warehousing, driverless trucks and drones; sales by e-commerce, self-service and web based auctions; marketing by CRM and targeted advertising based on Big Data Analytics; services by e-banking, mobile communications, online entertainment and education;
  • Digital Banking. Are we about to witness the extinction of the traditional bank?
  • CIOs new role in the context of Digital Transformation;
  • Innovation and the added value that smart digital applications can represent in a commercial, environmental and social context;
  • The digital workforce. Are we ready to integrate the newcomers in our IT departments?

The conference was moderated by Yugo Neumorni, President of CIO Council Romania and IT&C Director at Hidroelectrica, Gianrodolfo Tonielli, Managing Director for Accenture Technology Services in CEE and Carmen Adamescu, Partner, Head of IT Advisory Services, EY Romania.
