CEPOL Research and Science Conference

CEPOL Research and Science Conference – Innovation in Law Enforcement was organized by CEPOL – European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training, in Budapest, Hungary, November 28-30, 2017. I attended this event as a speaker and a representative of “A.I. Cuza” Police Academy.

I presented the paper “Strategies for Monitoring Websites Security against Cyber-Attacks”, underlining the importance of the website for fighting the cybercrime phenomenon and for creating a safer and more secure cyberspace. The website goal is to analyze the procedures for detecting the cybercrime activities on the websites compromised by cybercriminals.

The specific objectives of the website are:

  • Identification of websites vulnerabilities;
  • Analysis of cyber-attacks structure;
  • Identification of best practices for cyber-attacks prevention and mitigation;
  • Improving methods for monitoring websites security;
  • Identifying methods for alerting websites owners in case of detection of intrusion or infection with malware;
  • Enhancing cooperation between institutions involved in cyberspace security.

The website was developed during the CEPOL European Joint Master Programme “Policing in Europe” 2015-2017 and it is supported by Romanian Association for Information Security Assurance.

The review was published on International Journal of Information Security and Cybercrime.
